Capture surface - Browser extensions
The browser is still where most saving happens: you are already on the page, and a toolbar button is the shortest distance between reading something and filing it. These are the extensions in the directory - official ones from Notion, Airtable, ClickUp, Coda and Microsoft, independent clippers like Save to Notion and Copy To Notion, and open-source tools such as SingleFile and the Obsidian Web Clipper. They differ less in what they capture than in where the capture lands and how much structure survives the trip: a screenshot, a Markdown file, a database row with its fields already filled in.

It depends where you want the page to end up. For Notion databases, Save to Notion fills properties as you clip. For plain Markdown you own, the Obsidian Web Clipper is free and local. For an exact copy of the page, SingleFile writes the whole thing to one HTML file.
Some do, many do not. Chrome support is near-universal; Firefox and Safari coverage is patchy and changes often. Each review names the browsers that tool actually ships for, because a Chrome-only extension is a dead end if Safari is your daily driver.
A clipper needs permission to read the page you are on, which is a real level of access. Prefer official extensions from the destination vendor, or open-source ones whose code you can inspect - the directory flags both with a badge.
