Privacy policy

saveto.app is a static directory. There are no accounts, no advertising, and nothing you have to sign up for to read it. Two things collect data that reaches us, and both are opt-in: analytics, which counts visits and only runs if you accept it, and the two forms, which only run if you choose to fill one in. This page covers those, plus the hosting and the third-party requests a page can make.

What we collect

Browsing the directory: nothing, unless you accept analytics, described below. There is no login, no newsletter signup, and no comment system. Filling in a form: whatever you type into it, including your email address. That is everything we hold — see hosting and third-party requests for what other servers see when a page loads.

Analytics

Analytics are off until you switch them on. On your first visit a banner asks whether to allow them. Until you answer, no analytics script loads and no analytics cookie is set. Decline and nothing loads at all: the tag is never fetched and no measurement data is sent anywhere.

Your answer is stored in this browser so the banner stops asking. It stays on your device and never reaches us as anything other than the presence or absence of analytics traffic. Clearing this site’s data forgets it and the banner comes back, which is also how you change your mind later.

If you accept, pages load Google Analytics 4 (property G-964H77VW78) to show us which pages get read and where readers arrive from. It records the pages you view, roughly where you are (derived from your IP address, which GA4 does not store), your device, browser, and screen size, and the site or search that sent you. It does not record what you type.

Accepting also sets two cookies in your browser — _ga and _ga_G-964H77VW78 — which give returning visits the same random identifier so we don’t count one person as several. That identifier is not linked to your name or email, and we never connect it to a form response. The data sits in Google’s systems and is handled under Google’s privacy policy.

Either answer leaves the directory working identically — nothing here is gated on analytics. A content blocker, or Google’s official opt-out browser add-on ↗, will stop the tag as well.

Forms

The submit a tool and feedback forms are hosted by Tally, a separate company. Whatever you type goes to Tally and is stored there under Tally’s privacy policy; we read it from their dashboard.

An email address is optional on the submit form and required on the feedback form. We use it to reply to you, and to let you know if something later addresses what you reported. That is the only reason we ask for it. We don’t sell it, don’t share it with the tool makers you write about, and don’t use it for unrelated marketing.

The feedback form also records which page you opened it from, so a report about one tool doesn’t get filed against another. Not filling in a form sends us nothing.

Hosting

The site is served as static files by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — to deliver pages and protect against abuse. That data is handled under Cloudflare’s own privacy terms; we do not build profiles from it or export it anywhere.

Third-party requests

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. In practice that means a form response, since analytics data isn’t tied to anything that identifies you. Ask through the feedback form using the same email address you submitted with, and we’ll delete it from Tally. That form is the only channel we read.

Changes

If the site adds a newsletter, sponsored placements, or any tracking beyond what’s listed here, this page will say so before it goes live, and the date at the top will change. See also the terms of use.
